Social Groups for Kids
At Kismet Learning Centre in Surrey, we offer engaging social groups for children ages 4–12, designed to help kids make friends, develop communication skills, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Our programs cater to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental differences, combining play-based learning, cooperative games, and creative activities that encourage positive peer interaction.
Little Friends (ages 4-6)
A play-based program for our youngest participants to practice early social skills, including sharing, turn-taking, and basic communication. Activities are short, hands-on, and fun, including:
Cooperative block building
Puppet play and role-playing social scenarios
Parachute games and group art projects
Circle time with songs and guided conversation
Focus: Making friends, emotional awareness, early cooperative play, confidence-building
Friendship Builders (ages 7-9)
A structured but playful program helping children expand social skills and peer relationships. Through guided activities, kids learn:
How to share, take turns, and express feelings
Problem-solving and teamwork through games and group challenges
Art, movement, and cooperative play projects, LEGO Club
Focus: Turn-taking, emotional expression, inclusion, and building positive friendships
Social Hangout Club (ages 10-12)
An interactive program for older children to practice advanced social skills in a natural, fun setting. Activities include:
Cooperative and strategy games (board games, team challenges)
Role-play, improvisation, and problem-solving exercises
Peer discussion, reflection, and collaborative projects
Focus: Communication, teamwork, perspective-taking, self-confidence, and lasting friendships
